South Whidbey School District Facilities Upgrades

Island County, WA

Absher is delivering critical modernization work as part of the $56 million South Whidbey School District Facilities Modernization and Upgrades Program, completing phased renovations across the District’s Elementary School, Middle School/High School, and Stadium facilities. Absher’s scope includes interior renovations and selective demolition, roof and exterior envelope upgrades with new siding, insulation, windows, and doors, secured building entries, and HVAC, electrical, and building control system installations, as well as parking, site, walkway, lighting, and utility improvements supporting safer campus circulation and athletic facilities.

Delivering this work within an active K–12 environment requires precise phasing and close coordination. Absher partnered with the District and design team to sequence construction around the academic calendar, minimize disruption, and maintain safe, fully operational campuses while modernizing critical infrastructure.
