The $193,000,000 Sound Transit Link Light Rail Extension project involves the new construction of three separate garages and stations across a 7.8-mile stretch in Federal Way. Absher is a subcontractor to Kiewit Infrastructure West Co., who holds the $2 billion design-build contract for the entire project and is responsible for all electrical, civil, rails, and guideways. Absher is building three separate stations, with garages, as well as operations support structures along the route, including Kent/Des Moines, Star Lake, and the Federal Way Transit Center, which are scheduled to be in operation by 2026.
