Seattle Airport Hilton Hotel and Conference Center

Located immediately across from SeaTac airport, the Seattle Airport Hilton property remained open for a portion of Absher’s 14-month construction schedule. The project included a 50,000 SF, state-of-the-art conference facility addition, a two-level, 100,000 SF parking garage below, 125,000 SF and four stories of new, wood-frame guestroom facilities, and the modernization of 100,000 SF of existing two-story hotel guestroom facilities. Absher worked in the preconstruction period on multi-phase estimating and value-engineering efforts, along with HNTB Architects, CMD Construction Management and Hilton representatives. Although budgetary challenges were significant, the team was ultimately able to bring the project budget and scope into line. Additional challenges included noise and vibration restrictions to accommodate hotel guests, highly constricted work, parking and lay-down areas, security, traffic, and more, along with the aggressive construction schedule.
