Olympic Middle School – Auburn School District

Auburn, WA

The $53.7M GC/CM Olympic Middle School Replacement project involved 105,000 SF of reconstruction on an occupied, existing 17.4 acre campus. The new school is being constructed adjacent to the existing school, while the existing buildings remain in operation and occupied by staff and students. The new two-story school will accommodate 800 students and includes general classrooms, specialty classrooms, gymnasiums, commons and support spaces. This project will meet the WSSP standards.

Added scope requiring us to move pre-existing overhead lines to underground for the new school as well as for an adjacent home, which also is receiving a new meter. This has required intense collaboration with numerous outside agencies outside of our control as well as our own subcontractors, including Puget Sound Energy, the school district, City of Auburn, Comcast, Century Link, and Parametrix. Complicating this schedule coordination was the Operators strike, which took place in the middle of the scheduling.
