Chelan County Public Utility District Service Center

The $105M GC/CM Public Utility District Service Center project involves the new construction of all maintenance, operations, customer service, and administrative functions on a 14+acre undeveloped site. The 283,000 SF project features a four-story administration and crew office building, a warehouse/tool room and covered line dock, maintenance shops and enclosed/heated storage, a vehicle parking structure, a fleet maintenance shop building, a fueling and vehicle washing facility, and a general-purpose materials and equipment storage building.

Absher worked hand-in-hand with Chelan PUD to develop a centralized campus that not only welcomes the community to complete customer transactions on-site but is also an adaptable home to all operations and administration functions in a rapidly changing utility environment. Through efficient preconstruction,

The eight-building campus is designed to be as energy-efficient as possible, exceeding the county’s code for efficiency by 40%. The design focuses on reducing energy consumption and costs and will serve as an example for the rest of the valley.
