Othello Square Building C

Seattle, WA

Othello Square Building C will be a 228,000 SF mixed-use development and will include approximately 176 units of workforce housing in five levels over a 50,000 SF, two-level shell and core, which will house a branch of Seattle Children’s Hospital Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic. One level of below-grade parking will also be included. The project is currently in preconstruction and is anticipated to begin construction in September 2019. The project’s goal is to be LEED Gold certified.

With a one year preconstruction period, one of the most challenging aspects is keeping the subcontractors engaged during that timeframe, especially given the lofty SB subcontracting goals. Small Business subcontractors are less able to hold prices and don’t have capacity to be making constant changes to budget based on a design that isn’t finalized. Stephanie’s SB events are helping keep interest high in the subcontracting community.
